Nadia Myre’s multi-disciplinary practice is inspired by participant involvement and by recurring themes of identity, language, longing, and loss. Myre is a graduate of Concordia University (MFA, 2002) and a recipient of numerous grants and awards, notably the shortlist for the Sobey Art Award, Conseil des arts de Montréal, Quebec Arts Council’s Prix à la création artistique, Laurentides, and a prestigious fellowship from the Eiteljorg Museum (Indianapolis). In 2013 she was shortlisted for the Powerhouse Art Prize. Her work The Scar Project was selected for the 2011 Montréal Biennale and 2012 Sydney Biennial. Myre has received accolades from the New York Times, Le Monde, the Washington Post, and Le Devoir, and her work has been featured in ARTnews, American Craft Magazine, esse, ETC, Parachute, Canadian Art, C Magazine, and Monopol. Myre’s work is held by corporate and public collections including the National Gallery of Canada, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Musée de la civilisation (Quebec City), the MacKenzie Art Gallery, the City of Ottawa, the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, and the Fonds régional d’art contemporain de Lorraine in France.
