States is a painting created at the beginning of a long term body of work called Utopias, which has since produced several stages of project series. This first group of paintings was based on a first body of photographs called Alone Together and they represent conditions and landscapes of solitude, while also celebrating and longing for communion. States is a singular painting from this series, representing a cartography of ambiguous conditions of feeling or landscape territories.
