Oil pastel engraving, 2019
My creative process begins with the intention of exploring an alternative reality, where earthly laws collapse and different universes intersect. Early influences, such as Dante Alighieri’s Inferno and Ovid’s Metamorphoses, led me to consider transformation through a narrative approach. Through various characters and their interactions, themes of play, adventure, and the malleability between the physical and the spiritual unfold.
The making of an artwork begins with thin layers of colour that will later be revealed through negative marks. This process gives the figures an ethereal aura, placing them in a vibrant landscape of colours.
