Hors champ II explores the codes of formalist painting, genre painting, and photography in an inclusive approach. The portrayal of the house is combined with formal interventions on the painting (cut-out of the central circular shape, reservation of the frame border) to multiply the possibilities for interpretation. The image contained in a telescope indicates a historical temporality that is superimposed on the immediate nature of the formal information.
Biographical note
Péio Eliceiry élabore un lexique visuel à la fois intuitif et rationnel où l’image instaure un dialogue avec l’objet et le hors champ. Il a pris part à plusieurs évènements et expositions présentés au Canada dans différents centres d’artistes, galeries et foires d’art contemporain.
Il a notamment exposé son travail individuel à L’Œil de poisson, à la Galerie des arts visuels et à la galerie Le 36 à Québec. Il est titulaire d’une maitrise en arts de l’Université Laval et d’un baccalauréat de l’UQAM.
