Sans titre is part of a body of works that address time and presence through an accumulation of fragments of the past. By using codes of presentation issuing from the archive or the Victorian scrapbook, the artist creates a minuscule inventory of the real in which traces and phantoms give rise to an open narrative, between visible and invisible.
Biographical note
Jean-Michel Leclerc est né en 1990 à Québec. Il travaille la mémoire, la présence et l’invisible par l’entremise de la sculpture, du dessin et de l’art imprimé. Il est lauréat du prix Robert-Wolfe, du prix Albert-Dumouchel et du concours BMO 1res œuvres ! pour le Québec (2012). Ses œuvres se retrouvent dans plusieurs collections de particuliers ou d’entreprises, notamment la collection d’œuvres d’art BMO. Son travail a été exposé, entre autres, au Centre Clark en janvier 2015. Il vit à Montréal où il poursuit actuellement sa maitrise à l’Université Concordia.
