Still life is a series of four black and white photos in which we can see flowers in a plastic bag. While walking down the street, the artist came across several bags filled with living flowers.

These images of flowers crammed into plastic bags attracted her attention for its poetic and violent side. Thus, it led her to reflect on the notion of rooting and uprooting, the relationship of humanity to its environment and the feeling of suffocation. The artist uses crammed flowers metaphorically to highlight the feeling of uprootedness that diasporic communities may experience.

In Still Life, My-Van creates a connection between human life and species from nature.
