The Pink House in Altadena combines fragments of scenes taken from my mother’s childhood in front of her home in Altadena, California spanning 1970-1974.
Biographical note
Alexia McKindsey is a Montreal based artist whose work investigates the potential of domestic spaces and its artifacts, in order to convey sentiments relating to familial memory and mythologies. Pulling from the physical facades, archives and relics found in these domains, she maps out the evolution and progression of time, memory and tradition that encompass these dwellings.
