La Lune was conceived to explore the solitary within intimacy. For me, space, planets, and the phenomena within galaxies represent vast solitude and massive silence. My imagination considers space the perfect stage for exquisite loneliness. By placing the lovers’ heads inside the moon, I attempt to express the privacy of our bodies and hearts, as linked and integrated with the ultimate mystery of the galaxy surrounding us. And to talk a little about the infinite isolation of being human, even within the closest moments of union that we can achieve with each other.
