Recording Chart for Industrial Monitoring

Polycrayon et crayon sur papier, 2020

27.94 cm de diamètre
This work is a drawing intervention on discarded paper used for recording data in industrial environments. The paper is a perfect circle and resurrects the obsolete tool for measurement as a contemporary art object.
Biographical note
Bronson Smillie is a Montréal artist, working primarily in expanded forms of painting and drawing. His work offers a visual entry point – examining the symbolic significance of “infinity” and the culture of affect developed as a result of the decay and collapse of the conceptual “forever”.
