Julie Bélisle
Julie Bélisle is an art historian with a doctorate in art history; in her dissertation she examined the use of material culture in contemporary art. She has over twenty years’ experience in research, conservation, and cultural action in the museum sector. Since 2022, she has held the position of curator of exhibitions at Biosphère, Espace pour la vie, where she collaborates on the development of visual and performing arts programming related to environmental issues.
Manel Benchabane
Manel Benchabane is the head of exhibitions at the Stewart Hall Art Gallery. Her exhibitions include La mouvance des sons, Petites baleines à dents – Cynthia Girard- Renard, Entre les lignes – Writing Mountains, and Prendre empreinte – Holding Knowledge. She is interested in nature and the environment, diversity and cultural issues, heritage and feminism. She is a regular contributor to various contemporary art publications and has served on various committees and juries.
Anaïs Castro
Anaïs Castro is a curator and author based between Montréal and New York. She has organized exhibitions and projects in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, and China. She is a founding member of the curatorial collective The Department of Love, which has presented projects in Shanghai, London, and online. She is an editorial member of Daily Lazy and contributes regularly to different publications.
Anne Roger
Anne Roger is a collections manager and contemporary-art curator in Montréal. She holds a master’s degree in philosophy of art from Université Paris 8. She has held various executive positions in public and private cultural institutions in Paris, London, Rome, and Montréal. In 2022, she joined the team at Giverny Capital as collection manager, with the mandate of preserving and developing the art collection, programming exhibitions, and managing the exhibition spaces.
Laurent Vernet
Laurent Vernet is Director of the Galerie de l’Université de Montréal. He holds a master’s degree in art history from Concordia University and a doctorate in urban studies from the Institut national de la recherche scientifique. He worked for the Bureau d’art public de la Ville de Montréal from 2009 to 2018, and for the Collection Lune Rouge from 2018 to 2020. In September 2024, he is curating a major exhibition by artist Alexandre David.
Sylvette Babin
Sylvette Babin holds an MFA in studio arts from Concordia University, and for twenty years she has pursued a pluridisciplinary practice as an author, editor, and performance artist. A member of the editorial committee of the magazine Esse arts + opinions for more than 25 years, she has been the magazine’s editor since 2002. A fervent proponent of justice, she is passionately committed to a variety of ethical, animal, and environmental causes.
