A Maternity leave is not really a holiday is a figurative and narrative project, a hybrid of drawing, watercolor collage and sculpture. I continue the exploration of my semi-autobiographical practice, this time by treating the theme of parenthood. With my project, I want to let the viewer enter a familiar and mundane world: far from the hermeticism of conceptual projects, even approaching the themes heavier (such as isolation, boredom, fatigue, lack of privacy) with humor. This artwork was made while in residency at the Akvarell Museet in Sweden.
