Impression au jet d'encre d’archivage, cadre métallique, 2023
A photograph of a table is unmoored from reality, with small wicks burning along its legs; piles of seeds surround it upon the floor. Through my work I enact poetic queer narratives that negotiate intimacies, tensions, eroticisms, and desires of the modern body. Wicks is in a series of photographs in which I examine themes surrounding grief, longing, and surrealism. During this period, I was curious about the transformation of space through the lens of loss. In the photographs, materials seem to be not adhered to realism but in a softly unstable state.
