Anne-Claude Bacon holds a master’s in art history and museology from the Université de Montréal. She was the director of the Jacob-William Collection (TOHU) before becoming curator of the Hydro-Québec Art Collection in 2004. President of Les éditions esse, she also sits on the board of directors of OPTICA and is a member of the selection committee for the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont Foundation’s art collection.

Julie Bélisle is the head of digital content development at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal. From 2004 to 2015, she was involved in research and mediation at the Galerie de l’UQAM and contributed to various digital exhibition projects (Virtual Museum of Canada, Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec). She holds a doctorate in art history, and her research area is the use of material culture in contemporary art. She has also worked as a curator, notably on Le Projet Peinture : un instantané de la peinture au Canada, which involved 60 artists (with Louise Déry, Galerie de l’UQAM, 2013). She has written essays on a number of Québec artists, has been art director of Spirale, and sits on the board of directors of Éditions esse. Since 2014, she has been a lecturer on museology at the Université du Québec en Outaouais.

Executive director of Mois de la Photo à Montréal, Audrey Genois holds a master’s degree in museology and was assistant curator at Galerie de l’UQAM from 2002 to 2016. In fifteen years, she has coordinated more than sixty exhibitions and ten national and international exhibition tours. She coordinated and edited forty publications on contemporary art, as well as managing UQAM’s art collection. She has curated, among others, the exhibitions Expansion. Les 40 ans at UQAM (with Louise Déry); Vidéozoom. L’entre-images (presented at twelve venues in Canada and abroad, with the curators’ collective La Fabrique d’expositions, of which she is a member); and Motion (in collaboration with HEAD–Genève, with La Fabrique d’expositions).

An independent curator who is passionate about contemporary art, Réal Lussier was curator at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, where he designed and produced more than forty exhibitions from 1977 to 2006. From 1997 to 2006, he was also responsible for the Permanent Collection before 1980. He organized, among others, the exhibitions Tenir l’image à distance: L’Effet cinéma; Jeff Wall: Œuvres 1990-1998; Marcelle Ferron, une rétrospective; François Lacasse: Peintures 1992-2002; Dominique Blain; and Neo Rauch. He is co-author of the monograph Michel Boulanger, Le dessin manifeste (Plein sud, 2010) and a contributor to the monograph Marcelle Ferron (Éditions Simon Blais, 2008). More recently, he curated the exhibition La jeune peinture et ses collectionneurs.

Sylvette Babin holds a master’s in open media from Concordia University. She has been the director and editor of esse arts + opinions since 2002, while continuing her practice as a performance artist. She has participated in numerous artistic events in Canada, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Her writings have been published in magazines, catalogues, and artist books, and she has curated several events, including Les Convertibles produced by Culture pour tous (2006), Infraction 08 (Sète, France, 2008), and Il Nostro Gusto (Triennale Orange, Saint-Hyacinthe, 2009).
