The Vendu–Sold benefit auction raises funds to support Les éditions Esse in its dissemination of contemporary art. Vendu–Sold offers collectors the opportunity to acquire works by well-known Canadian artists, while contributing to the financing of Esse magazine. Part of the proceeds also go to the participating artists. To guarantee the quality of the event and the works up for auction, Vendu–Sold calls on the expertise of an accomplished selection committee.

In this edition of the catalogue, the works appear in alphabetical order based on the artists’ names, following the procedure employed on the BYDealers auction website. The encan.esse.ca website provides additional information on the artists and works, as well as an archive of previous auctions.

Les éditions Esse extends its warmest thanks to its loyal partners, the artists, and gallery owners for their generous collaboration.

15 Years, 1000 Thank Yous!

Vendu–Sold is thrilled and proud to be celebrating its 15th edition. Since its foundation in 2009, the benefit auction has gained the support of a large number of artists and art professionals who have taken up our cause. Their presence, expertise, and devotion have shaped the identity of this fundraising event. Over the years, more than 350 artists have contributed works. Our gratitude is immense.

Now known as an essential event on the contemporary-art calendar, Vendu–Sold has provided an opportunity for many art lovers to explore a new passion for collecting, and for others to enhance their collections. Nearly 500 works have been purchased, and all collectors have been delighted. And through their acquisitions they have reconfirmed their invaluable commitment to supporting artists and enabling Esse to continue its efforts to promote contemporary art.

Les éditions Esse warmly thanks each person who participates in the Vendu-Sold benefit auction.
