The serie of Tranches consists of approximately 200 photographs of the artist’s record collection. The pieces capture the spine(s) of one or several records and are assembled in a different way for each exhibition. The spines take up the idea of a remix or DJ set in which the same records are played in new arrangements each time; as such, the documents of the collection are refreshed by their being presented in various configurations and become a visual score of sorts that adapts to the surrounding context. The Tranches series evolves and renews itself over time and in parallel with the actual record collection.
