The Sleeping Hat

Etching, watercolor and pastel on paper, 2011

62 x 56,2 cm
Estimate
$1 700
The Sleeping Hat belongs to an extensive series of works exploring the trials and tribulations of a man from the country trying to conform to the rules of nature rather than those of human society. By transforming the body into a landscape, it becomes a receptacle for the mineral, vegetable, and animal worlds and takes exile in the world of mythology to embody the source. This collage is an amalgam of three works, which by their destruction and reconfiguration propose a new topography suggesting a magical place for relaxation./p>
