Hands Holding Things #039 is one of a series of unique photographs consisting of the artist holding a found object against a simple white background. There are a number of related images taken of the same object, but each photograph is ever so subtly and incrementally different. The objects in the photographs are culled from Lexier’s extensive archive of found objects, which are the basis of a series of interrelated projects that take the form of vitrine displays, lightboxes, videos, and this series of photographs, in which his hands are as sculptural as the objects they hold.
