This project is like a passage from a catalog of an imaginary place; it is a commentary on unexplored locations made available to us. Imagination is evoked through the absence of evidence, and emotions are stirred by a subtle arrangement of intimate elements that function as viaticums. It stages a necessity and provides it with a dual poetic justification: self-reconstruction (interior) and verisimilitude (exterior). Thus, an engraving process gradually erases the material to reveal recomposed maps. The maps of Port-au-Prince and Montreal are arranged along hand lines to represent a fabulated space. In this way, the artist uses everyday objects as references to reveal the kinship of emotions that establish a mysterious resemblance between all human events.
