More often than not, I work from ideas that involve degradation and extinction. An important aspect of my work is to image the buried textures of ecological anxiety. Sunburn is probably one of the most figurative paintings I have done so far, and yet it is part of this visual research through which I critically observe the anthropocentricity of landscape painting - that of the history of Western art - in relation to the human experience of the landscape at the time of the climatic emergency.
