Satan (Fallen Angel)

Interpretation on the theme of the fallen angel. A rainbow spear, such as the division of the light spectrum in optical physics, inevitably reaches the subject which thus falls towards the earth. In the artist’s universe, it’s an initial state of reality. The bursting of color is seen as an entropic moment of contemporary reality and celebration before the complete dissemination of color in the abyss. Chubby bouquets and petals twirl with the subject to praise the fall in reality.
Biographical note
L’existence dans la superficie est le motif de la recherche dans le travail d’Antoine Lortie. Il concerne l’épaississement et par-là, la dilatation de l’espace esthétique comme méthode d’approche d’une ontologie négative. Cette pratique engage la rétention d’un état sensoriel ambivalent, émanant de la nature co-existentielle de l’expérience transmédiatique au coeur de sa pratique.
Le panorama technologique du nouveau millénaire se transforme dans la résilience primitive de la matière et de la tradition picturale. Dans son processus de création, des manières de déplacer un contenu numérique vers un support analogique sont élaboré au travers de l’utilisation intuitive et non préméditée des outils technologiques.
