Race the perimeter, or enter the precinct. Drawing presents these possibilities. It allows one to defer, to obviate a choice, to drift passively on worn paths. It also enables us to rehearse more active extensions of seeing: to survey, to partition, or to eliminate. Sound iterates and notates both tendencies at once. It describes an experience of distance and imperfect vision.
