Ce qu’il en reste [Left Behind] (2022) is a work taken from one of Lynne Lapointe’s most recent pictorial series, produced in reaction to the atrocities taking place in Ukraine, through which she wanted to reflect both on the hope that exiled women and children need and on the harrowing pain of leaving everything behind. In this work, Lapointe wants to anticipate a metaphoric state of memory and healing.
Biographical note

Lapointe’s works have been exhibited at P.S. 1 Institute for Art and Urban Resources, Long Island City; the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York; Museo de zoologia, São Paulo; Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (and touring Canada and France); Carleton University Art Gallery, Ottawa; SBC Galerie d’art contemporain, Montréal; Jack Shainman Gallery, New York; and The Rooms Provincial Art Gallery, St. John’s.
