Our fingers sweep the touchscreen. The spectacular effect they have on the immaterial image is inversely proportional to the impact they have in the real world. Even more real is the trace our desire leaves on the screen, fine streaks of grease that harken back to the gesture of the painter.
I conceive the paintings in the Vasistas series as small windows where multitudes of human beings reincarnate, hidden behind the overload of images created by the economy of the smartphone.
