Casita Azul pero Corazon Amarillo (Idolo Campeon)

Acrylic paint, pencil and oil pastel on acrylic medium protected cardboard, 2019

27.94 x 48.26 cm
This work represents the door and window of the apartment where I lived in 2015, after returning to Montreal from a month in Ecuador to recover from emotional exhaustion, and finally see my family. At that same time, my uncle survived an operation to eradicate cancer. His recovery was such a miracle that the doctor laughed when he left the hospital alive.
Biographical note

My works reflect the aesthetics of streets, personal stories, memories and my daily life, between Ecuador and Canada, and, more broadly, South American societies. Traits, colors and messages instinctively added through the process allow this visual description to come to life.
