Palestine, the "holy land", has been known for exporting oranges to Europe and the rest of the world for centuries. Oranges became a cultural symbol for the Palestinians adherence to their land and the land of their ancestors. The orange tears are caused by the pain of being trapped by the siege, but it remains unwavering and firm on the tree, refusing to fall.
