Pyrographed on paper, then cut out, Isabelle's creatures come from a large backlog of elements from which the artist draws to create new compositions. These insects and clover are recent roommates already working in their ecosystem. Even though it's a new house, they seems to have always been there. In nature, this scene would end as quickly as a butterfly flaps its wings, but here it is immortalized.
Looking closely at the work and its textures, one realizes the freedom of the elements. As if these flies could after all fly away at any time.
